All We Need is a Little Magic

We often get asked in the visitor center “How did Minot get the nickname the Magic City?  Minot became known as the Magic City during the time the railroad was being built.  People say that the city sprang up so fast is was like Magic.   As we wait for the sirens to sound in  Minot it is hard not think  about the water that is making its way into the Mouse River.  Minot is facing one of the most devastating floods the city has ever seen and now all we have left to do is wait and see.  The community has come together to help family, friends, neighbors, coworkers, and in some cases perfect strangers.  It is a pretty awesome sight to drive through the communities and see everyone helping their fellow man and woman.   We know there is going to be along road ahead of us and it will take some time and a lot of hard work.  But that is the great thing about being a North Dakotan we certainly aren’t afraid of a little hard work, and we are defiantly not afraid of the challenge that will be waiting for us when the river waters find their way back inside it’s banks.  It is going to take  lots of sweat and inevitably a few tears.  But there is no doubt we as Minotians will make it through this.  Through the leadership of our City & State officials we will rise again.  All it will take is a little Magic.
