MINOT – As part of its ongoing efforts in helping Minot recover from last year’s historic flood, the Minot Convention and Visitors Bureau is now accepting applications for the Marketing Matched Grant Program, which will provide funds to any organization or business that is involved in attracting tourists or visitors to Minot.

The CVB will award a 50/50 matching grant to an individual business, event or tourist attraction within a 30-mile radius of Minot with a plan to attract outside visitors to Minot. Applicants must submit a detailed marketing plan outlining the medium (print, radio, television, online, etc.) that will be used and where the marketing will be placed. All applications are due by 5:00 PM (CT), June 30, 2012. Priority will be given to businesses or organizations impacted by the 2011 flood.

The CVB will review, rank and score each application. Grant recipients will be announced on July 31, 2012. Grants will be awarded in two payments and each grant must be used by December 31, 2012. Applicants may apply online at http://visitminot.org/grant.

“Tourism is always a community effort. This grant allows us to further our existing partnerships within the area to help those businesses and groups who strive to bring in new visitors and familiar faces back to our community,” says Wendy Howe, CVB executive director
