Halloween in the Magic City!

It’s that time of year again and there’s plenty of spooky family-friendly fun right here in Minot, ND! From book readings and trick-or-treating to costume contests and a fun run, check out all the upcoming Halloween festivities below.

Halloween

Main Street Books: Halloween Party (Saturday, October 19, 2013)

Stop by for stories, party games, a little song, a little dance, a little seltzer in your pants! Activities are geared for kids ages 4-7.

Minot Family YMCA Halloween Fun Night (Friday, October 25, 2013 5:30pm)

A night jam-packed with fun for the whole family. Children 12 years and under are encouraged to dress up in their favorite costumes and enjoy treats, toys, candy, games bouncy castles and even an obstacle course. You’ll also find Dizzy and Cloudy the clowns and a spooky haunted graveyard. Admission is $3 per child or $15 per family and hotdogs and drinks are available to purchase for $1.50.

Boo at the Zoo (Saturday, October 26, 2013 1-4pm)

Boo at the Zoo will feature trick-or-treat stations, creepy crawly animal encounters as well as spooky story time in the discovery barn! There will also be some other fun activities depending on weather! Dress up the kids and come out for some not-so-scary Halloween fun! Don’t forget to bring your own trick or treat bags. Cost is $2 for members, $3 for non members.

Boo at the Zoo

Halloween Costume Run (Saturday, October 26, 2013 3pm)

Join Mile One Running Shop for their Halloween Costume Run/Walk at the Scandinavian Heritage Park! This event is free and costumes are highly recommended. Hot Chocolate and snacks will be served after the run.

Halloween on Ice: Welcome to my Nightmare (Wednesday, October 30, 2013 & Thursday, October 31, 2013 5:45pm)

The Magic City Figure Skating club presents it’s first musical Halloween show. It’s a horror fest of fun and entertainment for the entire family. The show centers around an ancient warlock in search of eternal love along with his band of frightening ghouls that serve as back ups to the likes of Celine Dion, Christina Aguilera, and the Beatles. Show dates are Wednesday October 30th and Thursday October 31st both at 5:45pm. Candy bags will be given out on the 31st. This is a perfect event for families looking for some safe Halloween Fun. So dust off the cobwebs and bring all your little ghouls out for some Halloween fun.

Halloween on Ice

Halloween Portraits (Thursday, October 31, 2013 2-5pm)

Stop by Otis & James (in costume) and get your portrait taken between 2-5pm. The cost is $15.00 per pose situation up to groups of three or $5.00 per person for a group of four or more. For additional questions, please call the studio at (701) 838-6181.

Halloween Treat Trail (Thursday, October 31, 2013 10am-12pm)

Participating businesses downtown on Main Street pass out candy to pre-school children dressed in their Halloween costume between 10 am – 12 noon. Depending on the weather anywhere between 100-300 kids will attend.

Halloween Day Trick or Treat (Thursday, October 31, 2013 2-6pm)

Costumed kids stop in for a treat at Rock 30 Games. Store mascots will be handing out treats to all kids (12 and under) in costume October 31st from 2pm-6pm. Stop in, get a treat, take a photo with the mascot and while you’re there don’t forget to enter our costume contest! Win 1 of 3 categories for a chance at a $50 gift card: Most OriginalBest “Gamer ” and Fan Favorite.

Trick-or-Treat at the Mall (Thursday, October 31, 2013 5-7pm)

Walk the mall in a safe and warm environment and get goodies from your favorite stores! Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Halloween at the Dome (Thursday, October 31, 2013 5-8pm)

The Optimist Club and MSU Student Council for Exceptional Children are once again providing the youth (13 and under) in the community a safe and spooktacular environment for trick-or-treating by sponsoring the 31st Annual Halloween at the MSU Dome. Businesses, service clubs, civic organizations, and MSU student organizations are all sponsoring booths for this years event.
