All My Sons: Ticket Giveaway

If you’re not familiar, Mouse River Players is an all-volunteer community theater organization located in Minot, ND. Since 1971 they have been dedicated to providing high quality, live performances to the community and are currently gearing up for their upcoming production of All My Sons.

All My Sons

All My Sons is a 1947 play by Arthur Miller and is one of his best-known plays next to Death of a Salesman. Based on a true story, it’s a searing look at corporate politics and family relationships. Ryan Haider (who plays former soldier, Chris Keller) says the depth of his character and the range of emotions expressed throughout the script really drew him to this role.  He believes the audience will really enjoy the drama and intricacies amongst the characters. He also warns that due to the mature themes, the play is really geared towards an adult audience and may not be suitable for children.

The production will run January 16-18th at 7:30pm and January, 19th at 2:00pm at the Arlene Theater (115 1st St SE in downtown Minot). The box office opens one hour before the performances and tickets are $10 at the door (cash or check only). To ensure your seats, reservations are recommended and can be made by phone (1-866-667-1977) or by email (tickets@mouseriverplayers.com).

We’d like to treat one lucky reader to a night out in Downtown Minot complete with dinner for two at 10 North Main ($50 gift card) and two tickets to see the show (you pick the day)! To enter for a chance to win dinner and tickets to the show, please leave a comment below letting us know why you would love a night out on the town. A winner will be selected and notified via email on Wednesday, January 15th.

I would LOVE a night out on the town. My husband and I don’t go out often. We have a one and a half year old and life is very busy between having a young family, my husband’s work and school schedule, and starting next Wednesday I will be a full time student, too. I love 10 North Main. We’ve lived here since 2007, and we treat ourselves to dinner there every September for our wedding anniversary. My husband and I both love theater.
This would be an amazing night for us if we won!

  2. John Says:

Got stationed here about a year ago. The wife and I are always looking for something new Minot has to offer and this would be a great date night for the both of us on one of our few nights we both have off together. Would absolutely love to see what Minot’s performing arts community has to offer.

  3. Samantha Busche Says:

It has been months since my husband and I have had a night out!! This will be around the time we celebrate being together 4 years!!!

  4. Mike Anderson Says:

I would love to be able to take my wife out on a date to see this show after a great meal at 10 North Main. We have been to a few of the shows done by the Mouse River Players and always enjoy them. Ryan is in my opinion one of the better actors out there.

  5. Melissa Evans Says:

I would love a night out because it is so rare that my husband and I get to go out these days and we are quickly approaching our 20th year of marriage!

  6. tricia meyer Says:

We moved out here 2 years ago and we have a one year old daughter. We don’t have any family here and no one we trust to leave her with so we have been on one date alone since we have had her and that is when we had our parents out here to visit from michigan. It is about time we hired a sitter:) and this would be a great excuse to!!

  7. Kelda Ortiz Says:

My family and I just moved to minot in November. As most of us transplants here in minot, we moved for my husbands job in the oil fields. He works 6 days a week, gone from 4 am to 8 pm. We have only been married 4 months and between the two of us, we have 5 kids! We try to get out and have date night, just the two of us, but for the last two weeks, all of the kids have been fighting the flu. If anything, we both need a break, some good food and entertainment, and a chance to spend some quality time together. Plus, I’ve heard the food is amazing, and I need a reason to go eat there. We love Minot, the people have been amazing and so inviting. I’m glad we made the move and plan to spend al long time here!

  8. Trisha Guthrie Says:

My husband and I would love to win a night out. A nice dinner and a show sound like the perfect date night. We have a 10 year old son who is involved in a lot of activities. We don’t ever have very much time for just us. I don’t remember the last time we did something together, just my husband and I.

  9. Jenny Olson Says:

I would love a date night with my hubby! We haven’t gone out just the two of us in months, so it is long over due! We’ve also talked about going to 10 North Main many times, this would be a great opportunity!

  10. Trisha Jessen Says:

I’ve never attended an indoor Minot play. I love the outdoor theater at MSU but this would be fun to attend. I really enjoy 10 North Main too – it’s been a while since dining there.

  11. Annette Mennem Says:

My husband and I went through a rough year; illness, job related challenges. A highlight was we adopted a 8 yr old girl after taking her in 4 yrs ago and living in fear that someone would knock on the door and take her from us. I’d love to surprise my husband with a night out, now that we can leave her with a sitter, she’s ours no one can take her from us.

  12. Bailee Saltzman Says:

  24. Veronica Says:

My husband and I would love a night out. I just give birth to our son in October and have yet to have him leave my side and my husband works so hard to provide for us that in a normal work week he works between 80-100 hours. Meaning we rarely get time to catch up between all the chaos. I would be so happy if I could surprise him with this to show him just how much I appreciate him and get some quality time with the man I love!

  25. Carly Says:

As a very busy couple, my husband and I would love a night out on the town! We both enjoy plays, but have never been to the Mouse River players. Also, 10 North Main is generally a “special occasion” type dinner date. It would be amazing to have the special occasion be to enjoy all that Minot has to offer and each other’s company in the midst of busy schedules. Thank you for offering the fun give-away!

  26. Kristin Says:

January 15th is my birthday and what a great night out with my hubs that would be!!

  31. Kate Says:

OMG! We need a date night!!!! My honey and I both work for the same big company. We travel an hour to work each way Monday through Saturday. Up at 3:30 am and back home at 6:30 pm. From there we run to school events, hockey practice, grocery shopping, gym, you name it! We haven’t had a date night out since August! We have a nine year old that we devote all our time and attention to when not at work. We miss out on that time as a couple just to sit, hold hands, eat a meal made by someone else. Ah sweet bliss!!!

  32. Kim Says:

I would LOVE to win this! My husband works so much (over 120 hours a week on his weeks on) and is gone a lot! Plus we have 3 kids at home including 2 teenagers who keep us very busy and on our toes. We could both use a night out. Having just moved to Minot this past summer we would love to see the Mouse River Players and dinner at 10 North Main would be beyond amazing, we have never been.

  33. Brooke Says:

I have always wanted to see a Mouse River Players production! My mom performed with them in the 80’s and has nothing but wonderful things to say about them. Not only that, but who doesn’t love “Good food and Nice Drinks” at 10 North Main?? My husband and I have been saving money to fix up our home and a night out on the town is just what we need! What a great giveaway! Thank you for your consideration!

  34. Kim Wilson Says:

What an awesome giveaway! We haven’t had the opportunity to get back our old haunts since having arrived in Minot after 15 years living out of state. Our kids were active with the Mini Mousers years ago and attending the theater would bring back some awesome memories. It will be great to see how far The Mouse River Players have come since those many years ago. Dinner will be the icing on the cake!

I was just telling my husband tonight how I would like to go to this play on the 18th for my 31st birthday – how fun it would be to do that and dinner at 10 North Main! And the live music before the play that night. Lovin’ local life in Minot!

  38. Tricia Rosatti Says:

  39. Tiffany Says:

My husband and I would LOVE a date night out! The last date night we had was right before he deployed in April 2013. My husband came back from deployment just two weeks before our 2nd daughter was born and we haven’t been able to have a date night since his return in October 2013. We have been to 10 North Main once and loved it and would love the chance to get to go there again. Thank you for the great give-away 🙂

  40. Jennifer Wagner Says:

My husband and I would love tickets and dinner! We are just back to the area after the military moved us away 10 years ago. Thanks!

  46. Krysti Dycus Says:

I would love to see what the performing arts in Minot is like. Ive only been to one play in my life and that was in Crosby, almost 3 years ago. One of my first dates with my husband! Having 3 children involved in sports makes it very difficult to have a date night, whoch i believe is highly important, especially with newlyweds.

We love live theatre and especially when it is put on by locals with locals in it. All My Sons sounds like a very special play close to peoples hearts on both sides of the border! We would love to come and spend a night or two in Minot and see this production!! We didn’t know Minot had live theatre. 🙂 A great date night with my husband of 38 years! 😉

  55. Pam Says:

I am a full time student working to put herself through college and in hopes of becoming one of the the best darn nurses around. With the rigors of work and school (and the expenses of living in Minot) I don’t have a lot of extra time or money for evenings out and love the arts. I would love to be able to have a sophisticated night out like this, and be able to forget for a moment about the bills, expenses, exams, and stress hanging over my head.

  56. Jeri Kraft Says:

I don’t have a hubby, just a 3 year old. I have never eaten at 10 north Main, nor have I

Sounds like a great time out in Minot

  66. Courtney K Says:

My husband and I would love to win this! We are quickly approaching our 7th wedding anniversary. As busy parents of three, there isn’t as much time to plan a fun evening out. We have set our New Years’ resolution to do a date once a month. This would be a perfect evening out!

  68. Whitney Says:

I would love to see a play by Arthur Miller. I’m a teacher at Magic City Campus and currently teaching The Crucible by Arthur Miller. My husband and I both work full time and would really enjoy an opportunity to see what Minot has to offer. We have always loved date nights and dinner theaters but have had a hard time finding time to continue those traditions. The weekend of the play is my birthday weekend and I would love to celebrate another year with a dinner at one of the nicest restaurants in town and a fantastic show. We are new to Minot but have loved the kind people and many chances to make memories. Pick us! 🙂

Never been to a professional play….

I guess it will be the last date night for quite a few months since we won’t be going out alone for quite awhile after baby either! 10 North Main is such a special place for us as well, he took me there the night we got engaged! 85. Joshua Stansbury Says:

I would love a night out for my wife and I. My wife is originally from Minot but now we work in Williston. We have two young children. We work so hard then in the evenings we pick our kids up from school and daycare then we spend the evening with them working on homework and playing and putting them to bed. We are so tired by the end of the day often times we don’t have time just ourselves. We are full time workers, full time parents, and somehow in between all we do for the community and our family my wife was able to get her masters degree via long distance studies. Her degree gets officially recorded on January 15th. She definitely deserves an award for being such a hard working individual and hard working mother, I would love to be able to take her back to her home town to celebrate and to tell others about the many positive changes Minot is doing after the flood and with the “boom” affecting all western ND. So Please consider us for this opportunity, it would be a huge blessing and much needed R&R.

I would love to win tickets to check this play/theater out, plus enjoy a meal at 10 Nth. Main!! Thanks!

  88. Bruce Says:

My wife of nearly 37 years is a breast cancer survivor. There is nothing more important than date nights and enjoying every minute of life. What a great “evening out” promotion and advertizing of the greater Minot community that I have come to love and call home.

  89. deedee Says:

Why Not Minot?? We love an excuse to keep coming back!

  90. lisa Says:

I would so love a night on the town because my husband and I were just recently married and I have 3 children from previous relationship and don’t get out too often. We both have been seeing our chiropractor 3times a week and would love to enjoy a relaxing evening together! Thanks 🙂

  109. Rachel T. Says:

I desperately need a night out. My two and a half year old is a tyrant with a Napoleanic Complex, and my husband is working on a six pack the size of Mt. Rainier. We are all suffering from cabin fever and I’m positive that I won’t have any hair left come spring. I would appreciate a chance to be seen with an intact coif, at a respectable establishment, without fear or beer…..even if only for a short time.
